First and Second Year Projects

Row-house Project

This project was primarily to experiment with circulation and how it can help you frame spaces. We did not have a program for this "row-house" other than creating a path. This project showed me how architecture should have a promenade that shows people what you want them to experience.

Koshino House Study

During the Koshino house study we learned how to 3D model a building in CAD and to take sections from the model. We also learned how to take these sections into Illustrator and Photoshop and edit them.

Analysis

Getaway House Project

The Getaway House Project was a two part project. First, we dove into site analysis at different scales showing information that relates to the scale. Then, we designed a getaway house for the site that relates to the studies we did on the site. We also had a program of an elderly couple with certain requests, such as a doctor's office for Rosalie and a study for Emmett.

Design

Courtyard Design

This design is meant for an urban setting with an interior courtyard. This courtyard is the main focus of the design with the circulation going around the courtyard.

Lancaster Avenue

This project started off as a group project where we created a master plan for the site between 36th and 38th street and between Warren and Lancaster Avenue in Philadelphia. The specific area for this design is the triangle where Powelton Ave and Lancaster Ave intersect.

The main idea for my design was to create an area that is active all times of the day into the night. I wanted to create a transparency between indoors and outdoors.

The program is a micro-brewery and restaurant on the first floor. An art gallery on the second floor and residential and studio spaces on the upper floors.

along with a transparency between indoor and outdoor, there is transparency between floors.

This was a two term project. This second set of images is from the last term of the year. We got to revise our designs based on our critiques from the previous term. We also studied ADA and fire safety though this project. Along with this we did a section detail study to better understand how this building would be constructed.
